FY18 K-12 Outreach Archive
Overview
SWE San Diego promotes awareness of engineering to local students through our K-12 Outreach Programs. Our volunteers interact with young women to give them better idea of what engineers are like while allowing students to experience first-hand what engineering is really about. Become a role model and inspire the next generation of engineers by volunteering for one of our K-12 Outreach programs!
The time commitment rages from a couple of hours (speaking on a panel or in a high school), to a single day event (SWEET), to being a mentor in a more involved program. We are always looking for volunteers interested in leading or assisting with planning and organizing events!

FY18 Past Volunteer Opportunities
KHS Senior Gala
Kearny High School, Stanley E. Foster School of Engineering, Innovation, and Design (EID) invites you to come alongside our students to mentor and provide feedback for their engineering / architectural designs as they prepare for their culminating senior project. The Senior Gala is a synthesis of focused work where graduating seniors will reflect on their past high school experiences, scholastic achievements, and plans for the future while presenting a project they have completed to showcase the design process.
You are invited to the Design Review on Friday, June 8th, 2018 at a time of your convenience where you will meet the student(s) and listen to their design proposal. The students will be writing project proposals, and you will have the opportunity to choose which student(s) you would like to see present and provide feedback during this event.
A link to the proposals will be sent out after you R.S.V.P. on the Google Form: https://goo.gl/forms/UkVJYzZfWJbyO0Xj1. Please mention you are with the Society of Women Engineers.
