Scholarship Program Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
What is the difference between an official and unofficial transcript?
Both the official and the unofficial transcript contain the same information about a student’s academic record: a chronological list of classes, grades, and credits. An official transcript is sent directly to the recipient via mail in a sealed envelope, email from a school employee, or a digital transcript delivery system. It is a legal document. There is usually a fee for each official transcript ordered. An unofficial transcript is the student’s academic record without signature, seal, date, or sealed envelope. There is usually no fee. A student may obtain an unofficial transcript by following the same procedure as for requesting an official transcript.
-
How do I prove / authenticate letters of reference?
1. The letter writer sends the letter directly to SWE-San Diego via mail or email.
2. Screenshots showing the email trail of who wrote the letter.
3. A school employee may gather the letters and email them on behalf the the letter writers. -
