CALLING ALL ENGINEERING ROLE MODELS!

Join SWE San Diego in making your profile visible to all teachers and students alike. It only takes a few minutes.

The "FebFems.org" role model directory. is an easy, casual commitment opportunity to become a "visible" STEM role model. This international, online, searchable directory provides an opportunity for connecting for girls, girl-serving programs, parents, and teachers to working women STEM professionals interested in providing outreach as a positive role model. By creating your profile on the STEM directory, you will join a database that helps present faces and identities to STEM professional women. Together we can help provide access to visible, real life role models throughout San Diego and keep the doors open for the next generation.
 
When you click to “Become a Role Model” at FabFems.org, you will:

• Create an account and a profile; you may update your profile as often as needed. Any contact requests are managed through the FabFems site, so you choose to keep your contact info private or public. Basically, you decide how much you want to put yourself out there!
• Provide a photo and brief bio. You can link your website, or a video. We'd suggest you consider including "why I chose a STEM career" or "how I've make a difference through my STEM field". You will also be asked about your hobbies and interests. Be interesting and be yourself. Use first person or “I” language. Girls need to see that female engineers come from all walks of life.
• Indicate your level of Role Model participation. You can respond with "online role model only" or check the boxes to be contacted as a potential speaker or job shadow provider.
• Submit and wait for Approval. Your profile will be approved and added to the website by the FabFems administrator.
• Become a Role Model and increase visibility for your contributions to the thriving San Diego STEM community

Help us put the SWE-San Diego Engineering Women on the map and to build up our database to over 100 role models. Once we do, we will start circulating the database to teachers, parents and community members. Please forward this invitation to your colleagues and any relevant organizations.
