Oct 23-25, 2014 (Thurs-Sat) WE14 + ICWES16 SWE Annual Conference

  • Mark your calendar for SWE Annual Conference in Los Angeles, CA this year!

  • SWE-SD will be hosting a meet-up for networking at the conference Friday, Oct 24, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at The LA Hotel Downtown. RSVP here or stop by any time.
Oct 19, 2014 (Sunday) STEP Up Program Kickoff Meeting

  • SWE-San Diego is preparing to Kickoff our 4th year of STEP Up: Service Through Engineering Program.  This program exposes young women in high school to the ways that engineers can use their skills in the service of others.
  • Come join the committee to help with finding mentors, clients, and participants. Plus gather materials to make this the best year yet! These meetings will occur over the next month in preparation for the upcoming program.  To volunteer contact Janine Hicks at stepup@swesandiego.org
  • We are currently looking for mentors, teams, and projects for the 2014-2015 program!  The program will kick off in October and run through February.

K-12 Outreach Volunteer Training and STEP Up Mentor Meeting

When: 9am-11am mentor training, 11am-12pm STEP Up mentor meeting
SWE-SD is hosting free training for K-12 outreach volunteers on “learn how to be a better mentor”.  Following the training will be the STEP Up Mentor Meeting.  If you are at all interested in becoming a mentor for this year’s STEP Up program, we encourage you to stay.  Information on this year’s program will be presented along with more tips and wisdom on how to teach high school students.
