SWEET 2014 Planning Committee Meeting

  • Call for Committee Members
  • This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and to encourage our future womenengineers. This is a half day workshop that includes 5 hands on activities.
  • As a committee member, you will work with other female engineers to help create, plan and coordinate the activities. Committee meetings are held every other week at 6pm. Hope to see you there!

April 17, 2014 (Thursday) CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – Women In Engineering Career Day, San Diego

  • Location: San Diego High School
  • Time: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • If you are interested in volunteering or have more information, please contact Melissa Jones and Liz Wong at outreach@swesandiego.org.
  • Sign up for a shift here, An individual volunteer can have multiple volunteer assignments, see below.
  • Volunteer Opportunities:
    • 3 more professional panelist for the morning panel session. (Time commitment approx 8:30-10 AM) Aerospace, electrical, chemical, industrial, biology, science, math disciples, any industry at any level. Each panelist will have 3 mins to introduce themselves and their company. We will then open the floor for question, and have prearranged topics (to be shared in advance) for responses. We would also need a short bio 5-6 sentence for a handout that the girls will have and a head shot photo if possible.
    • Hands on Activity helpers - We will be doing an electronics activity (Steady Hands Agilent Kit) and Gum Drop Tower activity (Time Commitment approx 10-11:45 AM)
    • Collegiate Lunch Panel (3-4 volunteers currently in college or Dec/recent graduate) (Time commitment approx 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
May 3, 2014 (Saturday) K-12 Outreach: SWE Exploring Technology (SWEET)
