Outreach
SWE-San Diego promotes awareness of engineering to local students through our Outreach Programs. Our volunteers interact with young women to give them better idea of what engineers are like while allowing students to experience first-hand what engineering is really about. Our goal is to help inspire, promote, and encourage young girls and women to pursue STEM related careers and fields.
Become a role model and inspire the next generation of engineers by volunteering for one of our Outreach programs! The time commitment ranges from a couple of hours (speaking on a panel or in a high school), to a single day event, to being a mentor in a more involved program. We are always looking for volunteers interested in leading or assisting with planning and organizing events!
Our programs are 100% volunteer organized and run. Fill out our interest form below or email us to get engaged and learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities!
SWENext
SWENext is a way for K-12 students to become a part of SWE and #BeThatEngineer! Any student 13 or older can become a SWENexter. For those younger than 13, a parent will need to be that primary contact.
Each SWENexter will receive newsletters complete with competitions, award opportunities and fun E-resources. It also offers SWENext branding for those after-school clubs who decide to create their own SWE Clubs!
