Who we are

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology.  The SWE San Diego County Professional Section has a rich history dating back to 1982 of advancing the image of engineering and technology professionals by providing unique opportunities to network and develop professionally and inspire young girls to pursue these professions. Our section is made up of members from all engineering backgrounds and many STEM disciplines.

FY23 Mission Awards

We are extremely honored to be awarded TWO Mission Awards for our work in 2023 focused on supporting girls and women alike through their journeys with STEM. Being awarded Mission Awards for the first time as an organization is a true testament to all the work our volunteers and members have continuously have achieved over the past year. These Mission Awards are just one example of how SWE-SD and our membership embody SWE's core values demonstrating continuous improvement and growth as we contribute to the vision of world of equity and equality. A huge thank you to all of those who have contributed, whether small or large, to these amazing achievements. Let's keep it going!
