Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations! The process of nominating candidates for officer positions helps ensure that qualified candidates are placed on the ballot, are given an opportunity to develop and grow as leaders, and are tasked with growing our section and the Society’s mission.
Here are the FY27 candidates for SWE San Diego’s Executive Council:

Interested in Nominating Someone?
If you want to nominate someone who is not included in the slate above, you can do so through the petition process.
To Submit a Petition:
Eligibility: To take office, candidates must be voting members of SWE-San Diego.
Characteristics: The key leadership characteristics we look for are a willingness to develop and grow as a leader, exercise strategic planning and team building skills, take initiative to move plans forward, demonstrate results, and promote an inclusive organization.
To Petition: Please fill out this form by April 22, 2026. In addition, eight (8) voting members of SWE-SD must endorse via email to the Chair of the SWE-SD Nominating Committee at nominations@swesandiego.org to place the candidate’s name on the ballot.
Consent: Candidate consent is required prior to placing on the ballot.
Petitions are due by April 22, 2026. Voting will open April 26, 2026.

Every year the San Diego County Section of the Society of Women Engineers awards monetary scholarships to young women enrolling in engineering schools or university engineering programs leading to an accredited engineering or computer science degree in the United States. Each year, the number and amount of our scholarships varies, depending on our corporate and member support. Join us, sponsor a SWE San Diego Scholarship today!

Registration is now open for Girls In STEM Inspiration Day 2026 (GIS)!
GIS is a day of STEM Inspiration for youths to meet STEM role models and do an interactive hands-on engineering project. Parents will learn about bias literacy while students build a fun engineering project.
All 6th - 12th grade students are welcome to register.

A new chapter of connection, growth, and community begins now.
We’re thrilled to introduce SWE SD EmpowerHer, a mentorship initiative created to bring early professioal, Collegiate, and SWENexters together with local STEM professionals for meaningful, one‑on‑one guidance. This program is designed to accelerate your leadership journey by surrounding you with a supportive network of peers and mentors who can inform, inspire, and champion your success.
SWE SD EmpowerHer is rooted in the belief that mentorship changes lives. By fostering genuine mentor–mentee relationships built on shared experiences, encouragement, and thoughtful guidance, we aim to support academic achievement, personal development, and career exploration.
